The transportation program is provided to the elderly (60 and over) and disabled citizens of Shawano County as a part of the Department of Transportation’s 85.21 Grant. Three programs are currently being offered: the Volunteer Driver Escort, Mini-bus service and taxi ticket discounts. Set bus routes, with some flexibility, are offered. The bus is wheelchair accessible.

Volunteer Driver Escorts:
Volunteers drive elderly (60 and over) and disabled individuals, who are able to get in and out of a vehicle on their own, to their out-of-town medical appointments. There is a 30-cent per mile co-pay for medical appointments. Non-medical rides are available at the current IRS mileage rate. Please contact the office a few days before your appointment to allow time for making arrangements with a volunteer driver.

We are always in need of volunteer drivers and even if you can only help us one day a month, we would LOVE to have you drive for us.
