**NEW SEPTIC SYSTEM MAINTENANCE NOTICE POST CARD**
(This information was previously mailed in letter form)

Yellow postcard with septic system maintenance notice

The picture above is what the septic system (POWTS) 3 year maintenance post card notice will look like. This 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" yellow post card will be sent to properties in the spring approximately 3 years after the septic system’s last recorded service date. 2026 postcards were sent out Monday April 13th.

Failure to have your septic system serviced and recorded prior to the assigned deadline date the year it is due, will result in a special charge on your property taxes. If you need a copy of your post card, it will cost $5 to have it re-printed by the Planning & Development Department or it can be emailed to you for free.

A list of licensed pumpers for septic systems and holding tanks is available online.  Please see the List of Licensed Pumpers for Septic Tanks found in the Forms and Documents tab under the Private Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems category. the asterisk indicates those who have the ability to self-enter the servicing into our system. If your service provider self-enters, you will not need to provide or send back your yellow post card.

Please also note that some pumpers may not sign your post card or self-enter your pumping until payment is made and cleared.

REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU RETURN THE PUMPER SIGNED AND DATED POST CARD, THE SERVICING COMPANY RETURNS THE SIGNED AND DATED POST CARD, OR SERVICING COMPANY SELF ENTERS, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO VERIFY THAT YOUR SERVICE IS RECORDED. YOU SHOULD CONTACT THIS DEPARTMENT PRIOR TO THE DEADLINE DATE TO ENSURE YOUR SERVICE HAS BEEN RECORDED.

If you choose to copy and paste the sample post card onto a sheet of your own paper, please make sure all of your property information is completed on it so we can record you servicing accurately. This includes: sanitary permit #, tax parcel #, site address, and your mailing address. The sample above does not have property information or a deadline due date of September 8, 2026.
