The Land Information Office’s mission is to facilitate the development of land information in an integrated fashion, providing data and information access to all levels of local, county, state and federal governments, and private sectors under formal and informal data sharing arrangements and public access applications.
The Shawano County Land Information Office (LIO) was created in 1990 and consists of representatives from various county departments. The LIO is the focus point for local participation in the Wisconsin Land Information Program (WLIP) The LIO handles producing and implementing a county-wide land information modernization plan, and for sending proposals for grants-in-aid to the Wisconsin Land Information Board (WLIB) once the plan has received WLIB approval.
