Shoreland restoration projects involve establishing native plants such as native grasses, wildflowers, shrubs and trees which provide a deep root structure to hold soil in place. This prevents soil erosion and improves water quality by reducing the overall amount of nutrients and pollutants that enter Shawano County surface waters.
