CHILD SUPPORT INFORMATION

ELIGIBILITY FOR SERVICES
Families who participate in Wisconsin Works (W-2) or Medicaid (MA) are automatically eligible to receive child support services. Other families may apply to Shawano County DHS Child Support Agency for a no fee application.

CUSTODY AND PLACEMENT / FAMILY COURT COMMISSIONER
Child support agencies do not handle custody and placement issues.

For help with custody and placement, contact the local family court commissioner through Shawano Clerk of Circuit Court at 715-526-9347.

CIRCUIT COURT FORMS
Standard, statewide forms are required by all Wisconsin circuit courts for civil, criminal, family, guardianship, juvenile, mental commitment, probate and small claims cases.

Call 715-526-2190 and listen to the prompts for direction.

Cases are split alphabetically for each case worker determined by the last name of the payor / noncustodial parent if paternity has been established. If paternity is not established refer to mothers’ last name.

Make sure when you call you speak slowly and clearly. Provide your name and the name of the other party on your case, your pin number or social security number and phone number. Leave the reason for your call or the information you are providing. Do not leave multiple messages.

Allow at least 2 days for a response, if a response from the worker is necessary.
