How Do I
1. How can I find my court date?

If you have internet access, you can search the Wisconsin Court System (CCAP) at https://www.wicourts.gov.
Click on the Case Search tab, Circuit Court tab, enter your first & last name then search.  The search can be narrowed to just Shawano Co. by clicking on the County box and entering "Shawano".  Scroll through the information to "Court Activities" to view upcoming court activity.

If you would like to have text reminders of upcoming court dates, please contact the Clerk of Courts with your email address.

2. How do I apply for a passport?

Applications and information regarding passports can be obtained free of charge at the Clerk of Courts office or by going to the US Passport Agency website at www.travel.state.gov. The Clerk of Courts is authorized to process the first time applications for all applicants and renewals for children.  Walk ins are accepted between the hours of 8 AM & 3:30 PM.

3. How do I find an attorney?

An application for Public Defender services can be filled out with the Wisconsin State Public Defender,  Shawano Office, 106 S Main St., Shawano, WI 54166 or contact them by calling 715-524-2521 for more information.

A private attorney may be retained by a defendant.  Refer to the yellow pages or internet search for attorneys practicing in this area.

If you are unable to retain an attorney due to financial issues, but do not qualify for a public defender, the court will ask you questions and may consider other options.

4. How do I get my record expunged or pardoned?

Expungement is sealing the Court record.  Information can only be retrieved by court order.
A pardon is a grant of forgiveness from the Governor that can restore certain civil rights and privileges and relieve some legal disabilities.
