The primary functions include:- County-wide management, budgeting and coordination, development and implementation of directives, programs, policies, and procedures.
- Human Resource and labor relations activities.
- Administration of insurance: property, liability, workers compensation and risk management activities.
- Administer and account for the financial resources of the County in accordance with accounting standards, state and federal regulations and County Board Policy. Provide financial services to meet the needs of all County Departments.
Accountable to the County Board for the administration of its policies and programs. Oversees the day to day operations of the County, including the development, supervision and operations of the County.
Performs complex accounting relating to the general ledger, auditing, accurate and timely production of financial statements, and financial management duties for the County as a whole. Plans and organizes budget preparation, and keeps the County Board fully advised as to the financial condition of the County.
Responsible for the administration of all personnel programs to ensure they are consistent with the County’s Personnel and Administrative Handbook. Responsible for the County-wide safety program and risk management. Oversees and administers all county insurance programs including workers compensation, liability, property, health, long and short term disability, accident, and life insurance.
