The Shawano County Women, Infants, and Children Program (WIC)
The Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC) provides food and nutrition information to help keep pregnant and breastfeeding women, infants and children under five years of age healthy and strong. What can WIC do for you?Nutrition:
A WIC nutritionist will talk with you about your family's nutrition, provide tips on planning healthy meals, and tips for shopping on a budget.
Support for Breastfeeding:
Breast milk is the healthiest food for your baby. At WIC, you'll learn how to continue to breastfeed as you return to work or school, and how to obtain and use a breast pump. Mom's who breastfreed their babies will get even more food.
Immunizations:WIC will connect you with a public nurse to ensure immunizations for their age to protect infants and children early in life, when they are most vulnerable and before they are exposed to potentially life-threatening diseases
Referrals:We can provide you with information on area doctors, dentists, and programs like Food Share, Medicaid, and Head Start.
