Mission Statement

To provide the official county repository for:
-Real estate records (deeds, land contracts, mortgages, etc.)
-Vital records (birth, death, marriage, domestic partnership, domestic partnership termination and military discharges)

To provide safe archival storage and convenient access to these public records.

To implement statutory changes, system modernization, program and procedure evaluation and staff development to assure a high level of timely service for our citizen-customers.


Statewide Issuance of Vital Records
You may request and obtain certified copies of vital records from all 72 Register of Deeds Offices throughout the State of Wisconsin if the occurrence took place in Wisconsin and falls within the dates below.
  • Birth Certificate October 1, 1907 to the present.
  • Death Certificate from September 1, 2013 to the present.
  • Marriage Certificate from June 21, 2015 to the present.
  • Divorce Certificate January 1, 2016 to the present.
  • Tribal Marriage or Divorce January 1, 2016 to the present.
