 911 Addressing
Mapping of 911 addresses is maintained for the various municipalities, Sheriff s Department, Ambulance Services and area Fire Departments. The process involves putting in driveway points, building points, and for addresses, and takes a considerable amount of time so accuracy can be maintained. All unincorporated areas of Shawano County had been completed in the GIS system with addresses. New maps are distributed to the municipalities upon request, to better serve their local needs. Transferring the 911 maps into GIS helps in the development of optimal routing for the Sheriff s Department 911 Dispatch Center.
