Shawano County Snowmobile Trails Association

Because trails are groomed does not necessarily mean they are open! Check this website or call (715) 524-4349 for up to date openings/closings before you ride. Law Enforcement and Wisconsin DNR Field Wardens reference this website / phone recording when issuing citations for riding on closed trails in Shawano County.

All the trails in Shawano County are made possible by the volunteer efforts of the members of 18 different clubs. Members work throughout the year with landowners, the DNR and State associations to be sure we all have trails to ride when the snow flies. Are you a club member? If not, consider joining your local club and learning just how vulnerable our trails are when clubs experience a lack of help or riders disrespect landowners' property. Your contributions would be greatly appreciated!

Club members understand the delicate relationship between private landowners and our trail system… we have had many complaints already this year of snowmobilers riding off the marked trail… with some landowners indicating they will not allow the trail to cross their property if we can’t keep our riders on the trail. PLEASE, respect these people who are gracious enough to allow us to cross their property by STAYING ON THE MARKED TRAIL at all times.

Several days of warm temperatures ahead have prompted zone managers to close their trails to preserve the excellent base that is now in place. Groomers will continue working the trails this week to flatten them out so they re-freeze nice and smooth when temperatures drop again. Please refrain from riding in closed areas until the trails have re-opened.
