Q. When are my Real Estate Taxes due?
A. For all municipalities except the City of Shawano there are two options for payment of taxes. Option one is that the tax is to be paid in full to the municipal treasurer by January 31. Option two is that the first installment is to be paid by January 31 to the municipal treasurer, and the second installment is to be paid on or before July 31 to the County Treasurer. The city of Shawano has a three installment plan in which the tax can be timely paid in full at any time prior to one of the due dates. The first installment is due by January 31, the second installment is due by April 30, and the third installment is due by July 31.

Q. Does the County Treasurer's office sell Shawano County plat books?
A. Yes, we do sell plat books. The most recent year out right now is the 2009 book which is sold for $40.00. You can come into our office and pick one up, or else the Shawano County Farm Bureau will mail them directly to you with an additional $5.00 shipping and handling fee. The number to contact them is

Q. I misplaced my tax bill, can I get a new copy of it?
A. We can make you a copy of your tax bill for a $2.00 charge. The fee must be received before the copy will be sent.

Q. Can I pay my taxes with my credit card?
A. Yes, you are now able to pay taxes with your credit card. This can be done by either calling 1-800-272-9829 or by going to www.officialpayments.com. At the prompt, enter the jurisdiction code 5831.

Q. Who do I notify if my address changes?
A. All address changes may be sent to the County Treasurer. You may telephone or write the County Treasurer for a change in the address found on your tax bill.
