Mission Statement
The office of Corporation Counsel provides competent legal advice and representation to the County Board, County Board Committees, Boards and Commissions, as well as to all County offices, agencies and departments by means of accurate and up-to-date knowledge of laws, regulations and policies which affect the County.
Description
Corporation Counsel duties include:
Handle Guardianships and Protective Placement referred to Corporation Counsel from Department of Community Programs or Social Services.
Prosecute Mental Commitments
Alcohol Commitments – either 3-party commitments or EM-1 process
Act as Child Support Attorney for the State of Wisconsin
Prepare Resolutions and Ordinances for the County Board
Act as Attorney for all civil matters for Shawano County
